QPR need key players to ‘turn up’ – Green

QPR need their key players to ‘turn up’ for the play-offs if they are to stand a chance of winning promotion, goalkeeper Rob Green has admitted.

Rangers are sure of a top-six finish following their 2-1 win against Watford on Easter Monday.

And Green, 34, believes having a fully fit squad to choose from will benefit them going into the play-offs.

“We have players coming back from injury that can really affect games,” he said.

“There are moments in games against quality opposition where you need players to step up.

“We can be well organised, well-drilled, but for key players to turn up at key times for us is a big thing.

“The play-offs are intense and you would like to have the players we have on our side. The guys who have been around know what to do on big occasions.”

Rangers were struggling against Watford before late goals from fit-again duo Joey Barton and Charlie Austin turned the match in their favour.

“We had two big players come back and they scored both of the goals – we haven’t had that consistency this season,” Green added.
