Concern over Sandro’s latest knee problem

QPR are assessing Sandro’s latest knee problem and the initial signs are not encouraging.

The Brazilian midfielder had knee trouble prior to his summer move from Tottenham and struggled to regain his fitness during the opening weeks of the season.

He then went off at Southampton after suffering an early knock to the head and more recently was out with a groin injury.

And there appears to be grounds for concern after Sandro was forced off after an hour of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle.

Worried manager Harry Redknapp admitted: “I’m not sure what Sandro’s done to his knee. That didn’t look great.”

Sandro’s latest injury comes as he was beginning to forge a useful midfield partnership with Karl Henry – a combination Redknapp is keen to continue with.
