QPR discuss potential deal to sign M’Poku

QPR are discussing a potential deal to sign winger Paul-Jose M’Poku from Standard Liege.

The 22-year-old, who had a spell at Tottenham as a teenager, is keen to secure a move back to England and his representatives have approached several Premier League clubs.

Rangers were aware of his possible availability ahead of this month’s transfer window and have indicated that they are interested in signing M’Poku, although he is one of several options they are currently considering.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp would like to bring in a wide-man but may need to offload a member of his squad before he can do so.

A number of Championship clubs have shown an interest in Matt Phillips, while QPR would listen to offers for Junior Hoilett.

Hoilett, who moved to Loftus Road in 2012, has a £7m release clause in his contract but Rangers would be willing to sell for significantly less if an offer came in.

Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, M’Poku has played for Belgium at various age levels, including Under-21.

He was on Standard Liege’s books before being snapped up by Tottenham in 2008.

M’Poku did not play for Spurs’ first team but spent most of the 2010-11 campaign on loan at Leyton Orient, making 27 league appearances. He returned to Liege at the end of that season.
