QPR boss explains changes for Birmingham game

Ian Holloway has been speaking to QPR’s website about changes he has made to his side’s preparation in the build up to Saturday’s game at Birmingham.

The Rangers manager has spoken on the eve of several away matches this season about planned changes and his confidence they will work, but his team are still without a win on the road.

This week Holloway gave his players a day off on Tuesday rather than Wednesday, believing it would give them extra time for prepare for the game at St Andrews.

Rangers will leave London earlier than usual and work at Aston Villa’s training ground ahead of the match against the Blues.

“We gave the players Tuesday off instead of Wednesday, which has given us a little bit more time to specifically prepare for this match,” Holloway explained.

“We’ll travel Friday morning and we’re training up at Villa this lunchtime, which is something we wouldn’t normally do.

“It’s a horrible feeling when you’re going through a run like we are.

“We don’t feel we’re getting what we deserve, but there’s no point feeling sorry for ourselves.

“We’ve got to get ourselves going again and go on a positive run, which can make all the difference in this league.”
