Preston v QPR: Mackie plays, Hall on bench

QPR defender Grant Hall

Jamie Mackie returns to the QPR starting line-up for the game against Preston at Deepdale, where Grant Hall is a substitute.

Mackie comes in for Matt Phillips – the only change to the Rangers side that beat Brentford 3-0 in last weekend’s derby.

Central defender Hall has been named on the bench after being passed fit following a recent foot injury.

Preston, meanwhile, have a number of injury problems but are boosted by Jermaine Beckford’s return to the matchday squad – the striker is among their substitutes.

Alan Browne and defender Paul Huntington have failed to recover in time from hip and calf injuries respectively.

They join Stevie May, Liam Grimshaw and Chris Humphrey on the injured list, while Joe Garner is suspended.

Preston: Lindegaard, Cunningham, Wright, Clarke, Woods, Gallagher, Johnson, Pearson, Reach, Robinson, Hugill.
Subs: Kirkland, Beckford, Vermijl, Kilkenny, Doyle, Welsh, Smith.

QPR: Smithies, Onuoha, Angella, Hill, Perch, Faurlin, Henry, Mackie, Chery, Hoilett, Polter.
Subs: Ingram, Hall, Tozser, El Khayati, Washington, Luongo, Petrasso.
