QPR will produce improved display – Henry

Karl Henry is convinced QPR will produce an improved away performance against Southampton at St Mary’s this weekend.

Rangers’ two away league matches this season have ended in 4-0 defeats, first at Tottenham and then at Manchester United.

That does not bode well for them ahead of the trip to face Ronald Koeman’s side, who are second in the table.

But Henry said: “I think we can go there with confidence. We played Spurs and Manchester United and they’re top teams.

“I don’t think people will be expecting to go there and get thumped. We lost to two very good teams in our first away games.

“In both games we could definitely have done more. But it’s gone, we’ll learn from it and I’ve no doubt we’ll put in a better performance against Southampton than we did at United and Spurs.”

Southampton were tipped by many to struggle this season, having sold a number of star players and lost manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham.

But they have made a superb start to the campaign – unlike Rangers, who are already in the bottom three.

Henry added: “Southampton are probably feeling like they’ve got no pressure on them because everyone expected them to be falling apart.

“They’ve actually done the opposite. They’ve played really well and got some great results.”
