‘Pressure’ will not help QPR – Hasselbaink
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said the reaction of QPR supporters “is not going to help” his team after they were booed off following the 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford.
The Rangers manager has faced criticism from fans this season and inevitably there was an angry reaction to a dismal performance in the west London derby.
“Supporters are going to respond how they want to respond,” said Hasselbaink.
“They want us to win more games and we feel that we need to win more, so I do understand their frustration.
“But frustration and pressure is not going to help the players. What we need to look at is why we win more games away from home than we do at home.
“But I’m not using that as an excuse today, because we weren’t good enough.”
Goals from Josh Clarke and Romaine Sawyers gave Brentford their first win at Loftus Road for 52 years.
They were by far the better side for most of the match and could have won by a bigger margin.
Hasselbaink admitted: “It’s very disappointing because after the Bristol City game, when we played so well, we wanted to kick on from that and really make this place a fortress.
“But we made Brentford look a very good side. We couldn’t get our game going and they closed us down well and very easily. It’s hard to take.
“We were second best. They put a trap for us and we fell into the trap. They countered us way too many times and that’s our own fault.”

as fans why should we not ve frustrated, we have been watching rubbish or to many seasons including the recent spells in the premiership
we raise our hopes with every new manager we are buying cheap players and it shows
the board needs to stop spouting rubbish that includes sir Les
we want to be entertained as a minimum we know we cant win every game and dont expect to be promoted this season
