Chelsea clash too soon for Rangers’ Dunne

Chris Ramsey has reiterated that QPR have targeted the game against West Ham on 25 April for Richard Dunne’s return.

The 35-year-old centre-back was sidelined after suffering a knee injury during Rangers’ home defeat against Southampton on 7 February.

He returned to action in an Under-21 game this week, leading to speculation that he could feature in Sunday’s west London derby against Chelsea.

Head coach Ramsey said: “He did very well and played longer than we had anticipated.

“He’s a good professional and I’m really, really hoping that he’s going to be available after this weekend for the rest of the games.”

Rangers are also without Leroy Fer, Rio Ferdinand and Adel Taarabt, while youngster Michael Doughty is unavailable for the Chelsea game after picking up a foot injury.
