Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told BBC Radio London that West Brom winger Callum McManaman is “too expensive” for QPR.

West London Sport revealed in January that the club were interested in McManaman as part of a potential swap deal involving Matt Phillips, and this week revealed that Rangers were not in the running to sign the 25-year-old despite reports he could be on his way to Loftus Road.

And R’s boss Hasselbaink said: “I think Callum will be too expensive for us. He’s a player that we like. He’s a player we have been looking at for a long time, last year.

“But I think the asking price and all that kind of stuff from West Brom is way too high. The valuation is different to how we see it.”

Hasselbaink’s side, beaten at Barnsley in midweek, will look to get back to winning ways when they face Preston on Saturday.

They will be without Grant Hall, who is suspended after being sent off in the final seconds of Wednesday’s defeat.
