Leeds United star is ‘best in the division’, says QPR boss

QPR: Ian Holloway
Ian Holloway has told QPR’s website his side will face the Championship’s best striker in Leeds United’s Chris Wood on Saturday.

Rangers head to Yorkshire in good spirits after winning four of their last five matches.

But they face a tough challenge at Elland Road against fourth-placed Leeds and the prolific Wood, who has scored 25 goals this season.

R’s boss Holloway said: “Chris Wood is the best striker in the division, and we have to try to take care of him.

“Pablo Hernandez behind him in a 4-2-3-1 is really dangerous, and I think they are going to have probably one of the best young midfielders in the division playing in Ronaldo Vieira. He has been sensational.

“It’s a great test for us. Can we go there and get something?”

‘Massive club’

Rangers have often been most effective this season in matches in which the opposition have had significantly more possession.

And Holloway believes that will certainly be the case against Leeds, who are strong favourites.

“They are a massive club with huge support. I am delighted to be taking my team to Elland Road,” Holloway said.

“This weekend we are going to have to accept that Leeds will have more of the ball, and we are going to have to try to stop them, and impose ourselves on them and the game. It won’t be easy but I’m really looking forward to it.”
