Crystal Palace target QPR keeper McCarthy

Crystal Palace want to sign QPR goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

The 25-year-old has made only four first-team appearances since joining Rangers from Reading last year and Palace boss Alan Pardew is keen to take him to Selhurst Park.

McCarthy is regarded as an excellent prospect but he has so far been unable to dislodge Rob Green as QPR’s first-choice goalkeeper.

He did play the entire 90 minutes of a pre-season friendly on Tuesday in Italy, where Monaco beat Rangers 1-0.
