Ramsey stands firm over Phillips asking price
Chris Ramsey has reiterated that QPR will not reduce their asking price for Matt Phillips.
West London Sport revealed last month that Rangers had rejected an offer from West Brom for Phillips and want £10m for the 23-year-old winger.
QPR director of football Les Ferdinand later dismissed reports that Albion were moving closer to reaching an agreement.
And head coach Ramsey says there is currently no prospect of the Scotland international being allowed to leave Loftus Road.
“We’ve had offers for him but they’ve been [from] people who are trying to take advantage of our situation,” Ramsey said.
“He’s an exciting young player who wants to learn and I think he’ll only get better. We haven’t had the right offer for him so he won’t be going anywhere.”
There has been speculation over the futures of several other Rangers players, including goalkeeper Robert Green.
But Ramsey, who wants to sign Southend keeper Dan Bentley, says he is desperate for Green, 35, to stay.
“I’m chaining him to the post – he’s not going anywhere,” Ramsey joked.
He added: “Rob had a world class season, and for him to be in the England squad at his age shows you how professional he is.
“If I’m at another club, I’m trying to get him. I’d imagine there will be speculation about his future all through this year, but he’s a very good professional.”

We all know selling your best players is crazy.
Why think about it?.
Do the QPR directors want their money back they paid off £60 million of debt.
Will this fair play fine cripple QPR’s finances completely.
The chairman is having to save his Air Asia business with falling share prices and not so good trading figures.He has no time or perhaps spare cash.
Sir Les has confessed that money is very tight thus less choice of quality players.
Ramsey stating QPR are lacking quality.
Austin and Fer will be gone.
Not a lot left is there.
Anyway let hope over the next few weeks and months QPR directors and staff can forge/ bring together a team to entertain the QPR faithful with flare and goals.
Come on UR’S , I can feel the sap rising.

I’m delighted to see the club hold firm. Austin – 18 Premier League goals in a poor team – worth AT LEAST £15m. And frankly, seeing the prices being paid for lesser players, that’s a steal. So why the hell offer £12m and £13.5m?! So you don’t think Matty is worth £10m? Your loss.
QPR have been damned for their reckless recent history of overpaying and underselling players And now damned for trying to run the club properly. Go figure!

The guy has two years left on his contract, why give him away? Same with Austin, even though he only has one year left.
We win promotion this season, we get ninety million for coming last in the Prem the following season. Be pretty stupid to sell either Austin or Phillips for less than they are worth and give up on the chance of that ninety mill.

why sell good players sell the poor ones or those that dont fit swp dunne much barton zamora ++ gone good hoillet sandro traore furlin fur + should go why sell phillips austin green keep these players build your team around these to get you back to premiership at the first attempt then change if need beits the hardest league to get out of this champonship

Of course ‘people are trying to take advantage’. It’s what happens when a club is relegated. And in most cases the player in question wants to leave. But by not being realistic and setting a stupid price, the player will not go, and he you can bet he will be unsettled during the next season. You choose, Chris Ramsey.

Philips way over priced,they can keep him at 10 mill but as the window draws to an end they will have to be more realistic
