QPR boss will take no action against Taarabt

QPR will take no action against Adel Taarabt after he was pictured smoking a shisha pipe with Arsenal forward Maraoane Chamakh – but Mark Hughes has made it clear he is not amused.

The two players are Morocco team-mates and close friends, and were pictured enjoying a night out together following QPR’s victory over Arsenal last weekend.

“I saw the picture. If you’re a professional athlete you shouldn’t smoke, but a lot of players do,” said Rangers boss Hughes.

“I think what Adel was doing with his friends was a social activity. That’s how he relaxes and enjoys that part of it.

“As with everything in life, if it’s done in moderation then it shouldn’t have an impact. But from my point of view I wouldn’t encourage it.

“It needs to be done in moderation and not have an impact on his ability to do his work.”
