Boost for QPR as Faurlin steps up recovery

QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has been told he can begin running next week as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

Faurlin, whose campaign was ended when he suffered cruciate ligament damage against MK Dons in January, is on course to return for the start of next season.

The Argentine has been using an anti-gravity treadmill as part of his rehabilitation and is now ready to take to the training pitch at Harlington, where he is spending most of his summer.

“Next week I think I will start to run outside, which is great news for me,” Faurlin told West London Sport.

“I’m excited about it – really looking forward to it. It’s great that I will be able to get out there.

“I’ve been running [on the anti-gravity treadmill] and have been building up slowly. Things are going really well.”
