Bolton 1 QPR 1

Idrissa Sylla’s 79th-minute goal earned a deserved point for QPR.

After Darren Pratley had put bottom side Bolton ahead against the run of play, Rangers piled forward in wet and windy conditions and were eventually rewarded.

Luke Freeman floated in a cross from the left and Sylla delightfully back-heeled into the net – his second goal in as many matches.

Bolton opened the scoring when Gary Madine knocked down Josh Vela’s 22nd-minute corner and Pratley was able to head home from close range.

Rangers had been on top and would have gone ahead had Ben Alnwick not managed to keep out Josh Scowen’s shot.

Ian Holloway’s side continued to press in the second half and Conor Washington, brought on as a substitute for Ryan Manning seven minutes before the interval, missed a great chance when he side-footed wide after being found by Massimo Luongo’s excellent pass.

Rangers, now without a win in seven matches, appealed in vain for a penalty when Luongo went down in the area before the ball dropped to Scowen, who fired wide.

And keeper Alnwick produced a fine save to deny Sylla after the ball bounced off the striker.

Sylla knew little about that chance but knew exactly what he was doing when his cheeky finish hauled the R’s level.
