Blackburn v QPR player ratings

An injury-time Blackburn goal condemned QPR to defeat. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 1-0 loss at Ewood Park.

Alex Smithies: 7

Barely troubled but was sharp when called into action, producing a couple of saves and dealing with a dangerous late cross from Liam Feeney.

Darnell Furlong: 6

Combined well with Pawel Wszolek at times on the right-hand side. Had a solid game.

Nedum Onuoha: 5

Indecisive and almost played his team into trouble late in the first half when he failed to spot danger and then gave away a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Joel Lynch: 6

A mixed performance. Won plenty of balls in both boxes – including when he had a header tipped over. But he gave the ball away very sloppily on occasions and allowed Sam Gallagher a free header in the first half.

Jake Bidwell: 6

Got forward a fair amount but could have done so a lot more as Blackburn hardly threatened.

James Perch: 6

Without question he did the job he was asked to in protecting the back four. What is questionable is whether it was necessary against such a poor Blackburn side that looked there for the taking.

Pawel Wszolek: 6

Plenty of work-rate but not much to show for it on a frustrating afternoon for the Pole.

Massimo Luongo: 5

Below par before going off in the second half. Unable to make make any real impact.

Ryan Manning: 6

Certainly not afraid to impose himself despite his relatively slight frame. Made some mistakes on the ball but the youngster is learning all the time.

Jamie Mackie: 7

Bright in the first half and linked up really well with Conor Washington. Unlucky not to score early on, but was less influential after the break.

Conor Washington: 7

Denied what would have been his third goal in as many matches when his header crossed the line after bouncing down off the bar. That decision left Rangers feeling aggrieved and was particularly tough on Washington, who was lively once again. His movement and hold-up were very good and he had another couple of efforts on goal.

Matt Smith: 6

Came on for his debut midway through the second half and gave Rangers a strong aerial presence in both boxes.
