QPR have confirmed that Chris Ramsey is taking the role of head of coaching in the club’s academy following Simon Ireland’s recent departure from the job.
West London Sport revealed on Wednesday that Ramsey was to combine his job as technical director with the role he had before taking charge of the first team three years ago.
The former Tottenham coach was promoted after Harry Redknapp left QPR in February 2015.
After a spell as caretaker boss, Ramsey was later given the manager’s job on a full-time basis but was sacked in November that year, with Rangers having won nine of their 32 matches under him.
He returned to Loftus Road two months later as technical director and Ireland was appointed shortly afterwards.
Ireland left the club last week and is expected to join Nottingham Forest as first-team coach.
