Austin scores again as QPR draw at Hull

Hull City 1 QPR 1

Charlie Austin scored his sixth goal of the season as QPR picked up a point at the KC Stadium.

Austin met Tjaronn Chery’s 25th-minute corner with a glancing header which crossed the line before Andrew Robertson could clear.

But the Tigers hit back when Michael Dawson headed home Tom Huddlestone’s left-wing free-kick eight minutes before the break.

Chery, who was otherwise impressive, missed a glorious chance to restore the visitors’ lead in the second half when he contrived to shoot over from two yards out after being found by Matt Phillips’ cross.

Chery was a consistent threat to the Tigers defence and had a long-range effort saved before delivering the corner which led to the opening goal.

The Dutchman then sent another long-range shot wide and Rangers seemed to be growing in confidence before Hull levelled.

Hull went close late on when Robertson’s shot flashed wide after deflecting off Gabriele Angella.
