Eagles progress to National Cup quarters

Ruislip Eagles will face Super 8 rivals Olimpia in the quarter-finals of the EHA National Cup.

They booked their place in the last eight by beating Championship South side Thames 37-11.

The Eagles were particularly strong in the second half, conceding only three goals, with Michael Vitello top scoring.

Hadrien Pollino turned in a man-of-the-match performance and Alex Pechlivanis looked strong on his debut in goal.

Eagles coach Marc Fayemi said: “I was pleased by the players’ performance, particularly with what they produced in the second half.”

Ruislip, who are top of the Super 8 table, will face Olimpia on 22 February.
