Two medals for West London Pole Vault

West London Pole Vault enjoyed success at the England Athletics National Age Group Championships.

There was a silver medal in the Under-17 girl’s category for Jess Robinson [pictured above], who came equal second with a personal best of 3.30 metres – beating her previous best by 20 centimetres.

Dylan Carlsson Smith [pictured on the right of the podium] won bronze in the Under-17 men’s group, while Izzy Deacon came fourth in the Under-15 girl’s group with a personal best of 2.80m.

And in the Under-17 girl’s event there was a personal best for Sophie Dawson, whose 3.20m saw her finish fourth.

“I am delighted with the efforts of our squad,” said West London Pole Vault coach Ellie Spain.

“For many of those who competed and won medals from our squad, this was their first indoor national championships as pole vaulters – showing just how well they handled the day and a testament to their hard work and progress.

“They should be really proud and I have no doubt they will continue to grow as athletes and young people”
