Two off in Hayes and Yeading defeat

Hayes and Yeading United 0 Boreham Wood 3

Winger Dan Wishart and debutant goalkeeper Ferhat Aksoy were both sent-off as Hayes and Yeading were brushed aside by high-flying Boreham Wood.

The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes. The first came from a hotly-contested penalty, converted by Luke Garrard, while Junior Morais doubled the lead with a shot that went through Aksoy’s grasp.

In the second half, Wishart picked up a second yellow card for a foul on Garrard and then Aksoy, signed after Calum Kitscha returned unwell from England C duty, hauled down David Moli outside the box.

Coach Delroy Preddie came off the bench but his first job was to pick the ball out of the net as Matty Wichelow curled the free-kick home.

Wealdstone 0 Basingstoke Town 1

Wealdstone suffered the agony of conceding a 92nd minute winner to Conference South leaders Basingstoke.

Gordon Bartlett’s side had the better of the first-half chances but Joe Turner and Ryan Watts had shots saved and Scott McGleish blasted over.

Jonathan North kept Basingstoke at bay with a couple of good saves while Turner was off target at the other end.

But, in the second of three added minutes, the visitors snatched the points as a corner was headed in by David Ray.

Ryman Premier Division round-up

Leon Smith bagged a superb hat-trick as Hendon produced arguably their best result of the season in beating Margate 3-2.

A thrilling first half saw the sides go in level at 2-2, Smith twice cancelling out goals from Charlie Allen, with both players scoring in injury-time.

Just after the hour, Smith completed his first treble for the club and although Kevin McClaren was sent-off late on, Hendon held on to narrow the gap on second-placed Margate to three points.

Hampton and Richmond Borough and Harrow Borough were both on the wrong end of hat-tricks as they suffered disappointing defeats.

Former AFC Wimbledon striker Jason Prior tormented Hampton as he scored all three goals for Bognor in their 3-0 win.

Harrow slipped into the relegation zone as they were beaten by an injury-time goal at fellow strugglers VCD Athletic.

Trailing 2-1 at half-time, and down to 10 men after Stephen Butterworth was sent-off, Harrow still managed to equalise through Marc Charles-Smith with seven minutes to play.

However, Michael Power, who had put VCD 2-0 up in the first 12 minutes, netted his third with virtually the last kick of the game.
