Stones make point at 10-man Ebbsfleet

Goalkeeper Jonathan North saved a penalty as Wealdstone secured a creditable draw at title favourites Ebbsfleet – although the hosts played a lot of the game with only 10 men.

In an eventful end to the first half, Daryl McMahon was sent-off on 36 minutes for a lunge on Stones’ on-loan midfielder Luke O’Nien.

Ebbsfleet were then awarded a spot-kick six minutes later, when O’Nien tripped Anthony Cook, but North was equal to Matt Godden’s effort.

Stones were unable to make their man advantage count, with Scott McGleish sliding their best chance of the second half into the side netting.

Hayes and Yeading 0 Whitehawk 1

A penalty late in the first half was enough to condemn Hayes and Yeading to a second consecutive defeat.

Whitehawk’s John Paul Kissock clipped the bar in the first half before a poor challenge inside the box by United striker Joe Anyinsah proved the decisive moment.

Sam Deering tucked the penalty away beyond Calum Kitscha to put the visitors in front.

United’s better chances came from set pieces, with Dean Inman curling wide after Whitehawk failed to clear one particular free-kick, but they were unable to make the breakthrough.

Hendon won the first Earlsmead derby of the season as they comfortably defeated their landlords Harrow Borough.

Leon Smith gave the tenants a deserved lead after 35 minutes, finishing clinically after being put through on goal.

Harrow’s hopes of regrouping after the break were shattered within a couple of minutes of the restart, when Oliver Sprague doubled the lead.

Aaron Morgan had what would have been a third for Hendon ruled out as they moved up to sixth, while a below-par Harrow saw their inconsistent start to the campaign continue.

The weather accounted for Hampton and Richmond Borough‘s trip to Met Police, with Imber Court’s pitch waterlogged after heavy rain.

Incredibly, given that we’re only in August, it was one of four matches in the Ryman League’s three divisions to be called off.
