Gallen interested in Hayes & Yeading job

Former QPR forward Kevin Gallen is interested in the Hayes & Yeading United manager’s job.

The Conference South strugglers are looking for a replacement for Phil Babb, who left the club this week following a run of 10 matches without a win.

Gallen, 39, made more than 400 appearances for QPR and later spent a year coaching their Under-18 players.

More recently he has worked as a scout for Millwall, where he has also coached, and Bolton. He obtained his ‘A’ coaching license last year.

United’s director of football Tristan Lewis, who acted as Babb’s assistant, is in charge of first-team affairs while a permanent successor to the ex-Liverpool defender is sought.
