Boss Bartlett blasts ‘lacklustre’ Stones

Wealdstone boss Gordon Bartlett labelled his side’s home defeat to Farnborough one of the worst performances of the last few seasons.

The Stones opened up their first season in Conference South with three consecutive draws but remain winless after losing to Boro at The Vale, thanks to two fine strikes from Matt Ball.

Despite the quality of the finishes, Bartlett was unhappy with his side’s display.

He said: “We were very lacklustre today. It was a very disappointing performance all round.

“This must rank as one of our worst performances of the last few seasons.

“We have made it very clear to the players what is required and we will go again on Monday.”

Stones travel to Ebbsfleet United on Bank Holiday Monday while Hayes and Yeading, who also saw their unbeaten start to the campaign ended on Saturday, entertain Whitehawk.
