Middlesex loan bowler Podmore to Glamorgan

Harry Podmore Liverpool Victoria County Championship Kit.
Middlesex bowler Harry Podmore will spend the opening weeks of the new season on loan at Glamorgan.

The Hammersmith-born paceman, 21, will join the Division Two side on 4 April and be available for their first six County Championship matches.

He will return to Middlesex on 26 May, in readiness for the club’s one-day campaigns.

Podmore said: “The current strength of the Middlesex seam attack has made it difficult for me to break into the County Championship side, and with limited opportunities available to play red ball cricket here, this is an ideal way for me to not only gain invaluable experience in this format of the game, but also to hopefully help Glamorgan get off to a good start in their own Championship campaign.”

Meanwhile, Australian-born leg-spinner Nathan Sowter and all-rounder Martin Andersson, both members of the second XI, have signed new contracts.
