Fuller and Morgan sidelined by injury

Middlesex paceman James Fuller will be out for at least three weeks with the side strain injury picked up in Tuesday’s Royal London One-Day Cup game against Somerset.

Fuller was unable to bowl in the match and will now miss Middlesex’s last two Royal London One-Day Cup group games, their T20 Blast quarter-final and the County Championship matches with Surrey and Durham.

He would also be a doubt for the One-Day Cup quarter-finals and T20 Blast finals day, should his side qualify.

Batsman Eoin Morgan, meanwhile, chipped a bone in his finger in the same match at Taunton and will be sidelined for at least another week, ruling him out of the One-Day Cup group games and the Championship clash with Surrey.

He will be assessed ahead of the T20 quarter-finals, which are played in the week beginning 8 August.

Paul Stirling, whose shoulder injury kept him out of the T20 Blast defeat to Essex on Thursday, will be given a fitness test ahead of Sunday’s Royal London One-Day Cup clash against the same opponents.

Spinner Ravi Patel, though, is back to full fitness after six weeks out with a thigh strain.

Fast bowler Tom Helm, who tore ankle ligaments in the Royal London One-Day Cup match at Hove in mid-June, ruling him out of the rest of the campaign, is on schedule for a full recovery in October.
