Half-time: Blackburn 1 QPR 0

QPR are behind at Ewood Park thanks to a well-taken strike from Rudy Gestede.

The former Cardiff forward, who has troubled the Rangers defence with his presence up front, drove a low shot from just outside the box beyond Rob Green.

Blackburn, unbeaten in six matches, came close to scoring a second when Gestede’s flick on dropped for Jordan Rhodes but he was denied by Green.

Ravel Morrison has been QPR’s brightest spark in attack and he forced former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson into a smart stop with a first-time volley.

Aside from that effort, Blackburn have restricted Rangers to shots from distance, with Morrison, Yossi Benayoun and Benoit Assou-Ekotto all blazing over.

At the other end, Blackburn’s Grant Hanley nodded wide when well placed.

Luke Young is a surprise inclusion in the QPR starting line-up, the 34-year-old making his first appearance in the side since March 2012.

QPR (4-4-1-1): Green; Simpson, Dunne, Young, Assou-Ekotto; Hoilett, Henry, Benayoun, Carroll; Morrison; Keane.
Subs: Murphy, Austin, Yun, Zamora, O’Neil, Donaldson, Maiga.
