Symons excited about Fulham challenge

Kit Symons has spoken of his pride at being named permanent manager of Fulham.

The former Whites defender, who had been in caretaker charge for nine games, was given the job full-time after lifting the club off the bottom of the Championship.

Symons said: “This club is very close to my heart and it is a job I’ve always really wanted to do.

“To get the opportunity is fantastic and I intend to take it fully.

“I’d always hoped for it and thought I went about my business in the right way. I’ve done a lot of different jobs and done my apprenticeship.”

Symons’ first game as the club’s permanent manager is at Uwe Rosler’s Wigan Athletic on Saturday, followed by a home game next Wednesday against Blackpool.
