Jokanovic admits Fulham have regressed

Slavisa Jokanovic has admitted Fulham have lost their way since the start of the season.

Despite dominating possession against Bristol City, the Whites proved to be toothless up front and brittle at the back and the head coach is concerned.

“We didn’t have enough quality, enough character today,” Jokanovic said after a crushing 4-0 defeat.

“We are not solid like in the beginning of the season. We shot 15 times, but only two times we shot on the goal [on target]. Generally in the last four games, we didn’t find the end product.

“Generally we play around well, but in our box we are not solid enough and in the opposite box we don’t find the end product.”

Jokanovic added: “All of us, and myself first, have to make one step back, because we started the season a little bit different way. We were more compact, more solid, more aggressive.

“With new people we try to find more quality and dominated at the beginning [of the season], but it’s true we didn’t find solutions – especially after the international break.

“At the moment, we didn’t adapt ourselves to the new faces [in the squad]. We must make an improvement and see what technically is the best option for us.

“I have to give these new players some time to adapt and understand what we want to do and what we were doing in pre-season and at the start of the season.”
