Fulham Injured Parker to miss Magpies clash

Parker worked hard in midfield.

Scott Parker’s continued struggle with a knee problem means he will miss Fulham’s vital match against his former club Newcastle on Saturday.

The 33-year-old midfielder suffered the injury in training before the Whites were comprehensively beaten at Cardiff last weekend.

Manager Felix Magath is hopeful Parker will be back to full fitness next week.

Magath said: “Scott Parker is injured and will not join us tomorrow. I think next week he will come back to the team for the next game.”

Fulham will also be without midfielder Giorgos Karagounis, who has picked up a muscle problem.

Ashkan Dejagah must undergo a fitness test, but William Kvist is in the squad after recovering from a knock.
