Hughes planning changes for Stoke’s cup clash with Fulham

Mark Hughes, former QPR manager

Stoke City are expected to rest Bojan for Tuesday’s League Cup third round game at Fulham.

The former Barcelona forward made his first Premier League start in eight months on Saturday, playing 82 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Leicester.

But despite scoring the opening goal, Bojan is unlikely to be risked at Craven Cottage as Stoke monitor his recovery.

Boss Mark Hughes is likely to make several changes, with striker Mame Diouf set for a return after a hamstring injury, while Ibrahim Afellay is available after suspension.

Shay Given could replace Jack Butland in goal and Steve Sidwell may feature against his old club having played for the Potters in the second round against Luton.
