Fulham sign teenage Bristol City defender

Fulham have signed 17-year-old defender Aron Davies from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The Wales youth international has joined on scholarship terms but will sign a three-year professional contract in the summer.

A left-sided centre-back, Davies will be added to the Whites’ Under-18 squad.

Davies said: “Seeing the youth players come up into the first team gives you a good sign that you might get a chance if you keep progressing.

“I like to think I’m a ball-playing centre-half. I’m quite composed on the ball and I’ve got a good range of passing, but because I’m a centre-half I like to get stuck in too and I can be quite aggressive.”

Fulham academy director Huw Jennings said: “Aron is a young player who we tracked for quite a long time.

“One of the things that we’ve needed in our Under-18 group is an emphasis on leadership, and we think that Aron’s got those credentials.”
