Fulham register interest in Lyon defender

Fulham have made an enquiry about Lyon centre-back Bakary Kone.

The Whites are currently assessing their options in their search for a new central defender and made a bid for Nottingham Forest’s Michael Mancienne earlier this week.

Forest are discussing whether to accept the offer and in the meantime Fulham are looking at other possibilities, including Kone.

Fulham were interested in Brentford’s James Tarkowski but were told he would cost £5m.

Kone is a 27-year-old Burkino Faso international who joined Lyon from Guinkamp in 2011.

He has 52 caps for his country and played 18 times for Lyon last season.
