Fulham fans now believe – Jokanovic

Slavisa Jokanovic says Fulham’s fans are now starting to believe the club can make the Championship play-offs.

The Whites moved back into the top six with three matches to play after victory over Aston Villa on Monday.

Before the game, Jokanovic said he and his players were confident of securing a play-off spot.

And the Fulham boss was delighted with the noise the supporters generated during the 3-1 win over Villa, which he sees as a sign of nerves being lifted.

He said: “Today was a fantastic atmosphere in Craven Cottage.

“I believe we can make important things, my players believe too – today I started to believe our supporters believe we can finish in the top six and fight for the Premier League.

“We need to be focused and concentrated for Huddersfield, which is the next step for us.”

Jokanovic was pleased with the display against Villa, who were sunk by goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Sone Aluko and Neeskens Kebano.

He said: “We showed the quality, we showed the character and we showed we believe in our way of playing football.

“This kind of situation encourages us for this last three game in the regular part of the Championship.”
