Boss praises Piazon after Fulham win

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic said Lucas Piazon fully deserved the goal he scored in the win at Bristol City for all his hard work this season.

The Brazilian struck the opener in a relatively comfortable 2-0 win at Ashton Gate that leaves the Whites just six points off the play-offs.

It was Piazon’s third league goal of 2017 but rather than just focus on his return, Jokanovic preferred to praise the on-loan Chelsea winger’s commitment to the team.

“I am very satisfied with how Lucas Piazon is fighting for every ball to help his team-mates,” the Whites boss said.

“He has been working very hard all season.

“Today he scored a very nice goal – this is an extra bonus.”

Jokanovic was happy with the manner of the victory, their third league win in a row, which has given them hope of finishing in the top six.

He added: “We played a very good game. We won three points, we took a clean sheet, we cut the distance between us and the top teams in the Championship.

“I have to be satisfied with how my team is fighting and how they concentrated after our FA Cup exit a few days ago.”
