Fulham beat Rotherham to clinch first league win

Rotherham United 1 Fulham 3

Ben Pringle scored against his former club as Fulham clinched their first league win of the season.

They were two up inside 15 minutes, with Pringle’s opener and Ross McCormack’s penalty putting them in a commanding position.

Fulham keeper Andy Lonergan saved a second-half penalty and Cauley Woodrow’s last-minute goal sealed victory for the Whites.

Pringle tapped in after Moussa Dembele’s header from Jazz Richards’ cross was parried by keeper Adam Collin.

And McCormack fired home from the penalty spot after James Husband was brought down by Greg Halford.

Rotherham thought they had pulled a goal back when Jonson Clarke-Harris’ overhead kick was touched in by Paul Green, but the offside flag was raised.

And the hosts appealed in vain for a penalty when Clarke-Harris went down under a challenge from Pringle.

They did get a penalty after Green was brought down in the area by Richards. but Lonergan kept out Matt Derbyshire’s spot-kick.

The Millers eventually pulled a goal back when Clarke-Harris fired in from 20 yards.

But Fulham would not be denied and substitute Woodrow netted from Jamie O’Hara’s cross.
