Four-goal Fulham stun Reading with comeback

Soccer - Sky Bet Championship - Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Craven Cottage

Fulham 4 Reading 2

Fulham struck four times in the second half, including three in six minutes, as they staged an extraordinary comeback from 2-0 down.

Reading’s Lucas Piazon, on loan from Chelsea, put Reading in front after 12 minutes as he finished from close range.

Orlando Sa headed wide as the Royals continued to press, while Fulham suffered a blow as Jazz Richards was forced off through injury on 36 minutes.

And just a few minutes into the second half, Sa made up for his earlier miss when he fired a shot into the bottom corner to seemingly put his side in command.

But Fulham responded in remarkable fashion, as between the 49th and 55th minutes they scored three times to flip the game on its head.

Ross McCormack started the comeback, showing superb technique to set himself up for a shot that beat Ali Al Habsi in the visitors’ goal.

Moussa Dembele then grabbed the equaliser, converting Lasse Vigen Christensen’s cross, before Alex Kacaniklic, who had replaced Richards, latched on to Dembele’s ball and finished calmly past Al Habsi.

A stunned Reading then conceded a fourth with 17 minutes to play, Dembele again on the scoresheet after a neat interchange with McCormack.

Fulham: Lewis; Richards, Stearman, Ream, Husband; Tunnicliffe, Cairney; Fredericks, McCormack, Christensen; Dembele.
Subs not used: Lonergan, Garbutt, Parker, Smith, Kacaniklic, Woodrow, Burn.
