Injury worry for Williams in Fulham Under-21 game

Soccer - Sky Bet Championship - Fulham v Millwall - Craven Cottage

George Williams lasted just 16 minutes before being substituted as Fulham’s Under-21s drew 2-2 with Aston Villa in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday.

Williams, playing his seventh Under-21 game as he recovers from a nine-month knee injury lay-off, was brought off for 17-year-old Marlon Fossey.

Mattias Kait and Jordan Evans scored the goals, while first-team forward Cauley Woodrow played an hour.

Villa went in front on 30 minutes through Rushian Hepburn-Murphy but Kait levelled shortly afterwards, following up on the rebound after his shot had been saved.

However, Hepburn-Murphy set up Harry McKirdy to net on the stroke of half-time to give Villa a 2-1 lead at the break.

On 65 minutes, Whites skipper Evans equalised again with a free-kick to earn the hosts a draw.
