City looking to seal signing of Roberts

Manchester City are looking to tie up a deal to sign highly-rated Fulham youngster Patrick Roberts.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs to have tracked the 18-year-old, but City have long been confident of snapping him up this summer.

Fulham have offered Roberts a new contract and want him to stay at Craven Cottage, but he has indicated that he will not re-sign and is set to leave.

Roberts, an England Under-19 international, has made 22 first-team appearances for the Whites, all but three of them as a substitute.

He was identified as one of the country’s top youngsters long before his step up to senior level and has been on the radars of leading Premier League clubs for some time.
