Pringle and Lonergan make Fulham moves

Fulham have completed the signings of Rotherham midfielder Ben Pringle and Bolton goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

Both players are out of contract at their current clubs and have agreed two-year deals at Craven Cottage, with the option of a further 12 months.

Newcastle-born Pringle, 26, helped Rotherham to two promotions during his four years at the club and scored three goals in 43 appearances last season.

Longergan, 31, spent more than a decade at hometown club Preston, twice winning the supporters’ player of the year award, before enjoying a year at Leeds.

He played 29 times for Bolton in the Championship last season.

Pringle said: “As soon as I knew that there was interest from Fulham I wanted to come here straight away.

“You just have to look at the size of the club and where they’ve been in the past – hopefully we can get there again before too long.

“I like to think I’ll bring energy to the team. I try to make things happen, I can cross a ball okay and try to get in little pockets.”

Lonergan added: “I’m happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a very well-respected, historic club and it’s a place where everyone would like to play.

“We have a lot of potential to hopefully get back to where the club belongs.”
