Fulham out of bottom three after win

Hugo Rodallega scored twice as Fulham secured an emphatic fourth Championship win under caretaker boss Kit Symons and further strengthened his case to be made manager on a permanent basis.

The Whites, who moved out of the bottom three, raced into a two-goal lead inside 12 minutes.

Former Charlton man Scott Parker volleyed in off the crossbar and Rodallega tapped in the second from close range after keeper Stephen Henderson had parried Ross McCormack’s shot.

Rodallega curled in the third in the final minute to complete a resounding Fulham victory.

Symons has now led the Whites to 13 points from a possible 21.

Charlton were unable to cope with an intense start, with sharp, precise passing yielding two good goals from the returning Parker and Rodallega.

Defenders Tim Hoogland and Sean Kavanagh also returned to the side and Hoogland almost scored an own goal when he miscued a clearance high into the air that keeper Marcus Bettinelli had to tip over the bar.

Charlton improved in the second half and threatened a number of times, with Franck Moussa grazing the outside of the upright with a fierce shot from distance.

But the home side had several chances to put the game out of sight and one of those was finally taken by Rodallega, who grabbed his fourth goal of the season.
