Mourinho defiant despite ‘ridiculous’ goal

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insisted his side still have a realistic chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League despite their 3-1 first-leg defeat against Paris St-Germain.

An injury-time goal by Javier Pastore left the Blues needing to pull off a stirring second-leg comeback.

“The third goal was ridiculous,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.

But he added: “It’s a difficult job now but not impossible. Nothing is impossible in football.

“They have players who out of nothing can score goals. We are not a team full of talent who can score lots of goals, but you never know.

“I changed the team at 1-1 because I thought Fernando Torres could give us more depth than Andre Schurrle.

“The team was comfortable with Andre and I thought Fernando could give us a bit more.”

More reaction from Paris to follow later.
