‘Maybe he’ll come back’ – Redknapp jokes that Remy could return to QPR

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has again insisted that the loss of Loic Remy to Chelsea in the days before the transfer deadline has severely affected his team this season.

Remy, who was keen to join a top-four club, secured a move to Stamford Bridge after Rangers had been confident he would remain with them.

They have since been hugely reliant on top scorer Charlie Austin, while Bobby Zamora’s appearances have been restricted by an ongoing hip condition.

“We lost Remy on the deadline and that really cost us. If I’d have had Remy he’d have eight or 10 goals by now,” said Redknapp.

And he joked: “Maybe he’ll come back. He’s not getting a game at Chelsea, perhaps they’ll loan him back here.”

Redknapp wants to sign at least one forward during the January transfer window, with a number of possible deals currently being considered.

“It’s clear where we’re short – we need to have four strikers in the squad,” he said.
