Half-time: Brentford 2 Blackpool 0

Two goals in three minutes from Jon Toral put Brentford in command at half-time – and they were further boosted when the visitors went down to 10 men just before the break.

Brentford looked lively from the start, with Andre Gray prominent, and it took them just 16 minutes to break through.

The goal was created by Jonathan Douglas, who slid the ball across for Toral who finished clinically.

And the Bees doubled their lead almost immediately, with Toral nodding home at the back post.

Struggling Blackpool, who had to make two changes in the first half, did come close to reducing the arrears through Joe Rothwell.

But their task was made that bit harder in the closing minutes as Charles Dunne was sent off for a late challenge on Jota.

Brentford (4-3-2-1): Button; Odubajo, Dean, Tarkowski, Dallas; Douglas, Diagouraga; Jota, Pritchard, Toral; Gray
Subs: Bonham, Craig, Saunders, McCormack, Smith, Yennaris, Long.
