Liverpool tipped to sign Alli, Atletico linked with Cech and Redknapp hits back

Liverpool have again been tipped to sign highly-rated MK Dons youngster Dele Alli, this time by the Daily Star Sunday.

Chelsea have shown a keen interest in the teenager and Manchester United are also said to be monitoring him.

But Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be in pole position to sign Alli in January, apparently for up to £9m.

The Star also say Atletico Madrid want Blues keeper Petr Cech and that Chelsea are keen on Barcelona’s Dani Alves, who apparently wants £250,000 a week.

Meanwhile, QPR boss Harry Redknapp has described criticism of his management style by Roy Keane as “unfair”.

The Sun on Sunday reports that former Manchester United star Keane, currently the Republic of Ireland assistant manager, has accused Redknapp of being too soft on players.

Keane said: “Some managers seem upbeat with the players, like Harry; ‘All right lads, do what you want, have three days off’ – all that carry on.

“You don’t want people to be cosy with you. You think I was cosy with Brian Clough? Do you think I was cosy with Jack Charlton? Alex Ferguson?”

Redknapp, whose side are bottom of the Premier League, responds in his column for the newspaper.

“It’s unfair of Roy Keane to discuss my style of management,” he insists.

“He doesn’t know how I work, I have never managed him and he is talking from a distance.

“I’d never dream of talking about his management style. What he does is up to him and so is the way he chooses to work.

“I like Roy but what he is saying is rubbish. I don’t have to prove myself to anyone, because I’ve been a manager for three decades.”

There continues to be speculation about Redknapp’s future following QPR’s dismal start to life back in the top flight.

The Sunday Mirror say former England boss Glenn Hoddle, who recently joined Redknapp’s coaching team, will be appointed as his replacement if results do not improve.
