Chelsea Ladies closer to WSL title

Ji So-yun’s late goal gave leaders Chelsea Ladies a 3-2 victory at Arsenal and took them a step closer to winning the Women’s Super League.

Danielle Carter put the home side ahead at Boreham Wood and Casey Stoney missed a chance to double their lead when she fired a penalty over the bar.

Yuki Ogimi equalised from the penalty spot and Jackie Groenen then put Chelsea ahead, but Arsenal were level at the break courtesy of Leah Williamson’s goal.

The game looked to be heading for a draw when South Korean midfielder Ji capitalised on a mistake by Emma Byrme and netted what could prove to be a crucial goal in the title race.
