Chelsea youngsters beaten by Boro

Tammy Abraham scored his 22nd league goal of the season but could not prevent Chelsea’s Under-18s slipping to a home defeat against Middlesbrough.

The visitors won 3-1 at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground, where they were three ahead by the time Abraham netted from the penalty spot with 16 minutes left.

Alex Pattinson went close to opening the scoring for Boro when he hit the post early on.

After Abraham fired over, the first goal arrived when Junior Mondal scored with a 25-yard free-kick.

Pattinson made it 2-0 after the break with a fine strike and Mondal then scored his second of the match.
