Chelsea boss Mourinho unrepentant after criticism from Aston Villa duo

Jose Mourinho says he will continue offering to shake hands with opposing managers before the end of matches despite being criticised by Aston Villa’s Paul Lambert and Roy Keane.

Villa manager Lambert refused to shake Mourinho’s hand in the final moments of his team’s defeat against Chelsea last month and the Scot’s right-hand man Keane was also critical of the Blues boss.

An unrepentant Mourinho said: “First of all I want to say that I appreciate the comments.

“I think they are both two great examples of polite and well-educated people, and because I am a normal guy who tries to learn every day I appreciate their comments.”

He insisted he would do the same again and had “no comment” in response to accusations that his actions were disrespectful and against the spirit of the game.

And Mourinho added that he had “no reaction” to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s apology for pushing him during the north London side’s 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago.
