Chelsea Ladies suffer semi-final defeat

Chelsea Ladies were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City in the semi-final of the Continental Cup.

Toni Duggan scored City’s winner in the second half of the game at Hyde, where Ji So-yun [pictured] went close for the visitors before the break.

It was Chelsea’s second semi-final defeat of the season – they lost at the same stage of the FA Women’s Cup.

But they are top of the Women’s Super League table, with this week’s 3-2 win against Arsenal having left them in with a great chance of winning the title.
