Reports: QPR want Tottenham duo and have made Defoe approach

QPR are being widely tipped to move for Jermain Defoe amid reports the former Tottenham striker is set to leave Toronto FC after a short spell in Canada.

The Daily Mail say Defoe, who played under Rangers boss Harry Redknapp at Spurs and Portsmouth, has been lined up as a replacement for Loic Remy following the Frenchman’s move to Chelsea.

The Mail also mention Redknapp’s interest in current Spurs players Sandro and Aaron Lennon, as do the Daily Mirror, who suggest an approach has already been made to Defoe’s representatives.

The Mirror also claim Rangers are confident of signing Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson but that a deal for midfielder Sandro has hit a snag, with West Ham’s Mo Diame lined up as a possible alternative.

As for Defoe, The Guardian say he could be available for £6.6m, while The Sun say he would cost £6m.
